view- 2 fresh ripe organic apples
- 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tbsp granulated sweetener (optional)
- 1/2 bowl lemon juice
- Prepare your apples by cleaning and cutting off the
- stem part of the apples. Use a Mandolin or a sharp knife.
- Slice the apple uniformly into thin rounds of 1/4 inch (6 mm) thickness.
- Remove the seeds, and if you wish, you may remove the peels also.
- In a bowl, combine the lemon juice and cold water. Stir gently.
- Transfer the sliced apples into the bowl containing the lemon-water mix for about 60 seconds. Gently to ensure the apples are well-coated.
- Completely drain the apples. Then, transfer the drained apples back into the bowl.
- Mix the sliced apples with the ground cinnamon. If needed, you may add any granulated sweetener of your choice.
- Arrange the sliced apples, preferably in a single layer, on the trays of your food dehydrator. Set the temperature to 135°F (57°C).
- Allow drying for about 8 hours.
- Store in airtight containers.
