Are food dehydrators expensive to run?
No, they are actually quite cheap to run. You are able to work out your specific costs by using (Cost of electricity in your area) x (the average kilowatt rating of the product) x (Hours it takes to dry). Here are the approximate costs of each of our products. *Price for electricity was based on the nation's average at the time of writing (Sep 22)
16 Tray Unit - 28.20p x 0.6kW x 1hr = 20.2p/hr
32 V&H Tray Units - 28.20p x 1.5kW x 1hr = 40.3p/hr
30 Tray Unit - 28.20p x 1.2kW x 1hr = 32.3p/hr
60 Tray Unit - 28.20p x 0.6kW (Per Zone) x 1hr = 20.2p/hr (Per Zone)
28 Tray Unit - 28.20p x 2.4kW x 1hr = 65.6p/hr
58 Hook Unit - 28.20p x 0.8kW (Per Zone) x 1hr = 21.5p/hr (Per Zone)
How much does shipping cost?
We provide free shipping across the UK & European Economic Area (EEA) on all orders over £100 - €117 (est). Freight insurance and express shipping (only available for some items) can be purchased with your order as an additional cost.

For orders in the USA, Canada, and AUSTRALIA please change the country in the top menu to navigate to the alternative countries.
Do commercial units come with trays?
Yes all of our dehydrators, excluding our 116 hook rotisserie unit, come with 304 food-grade stainless steel mesh trays as well as a stainless steel drip tray at the bottom of each zone. Additional mesh trays or pan trays may be purchased on top of this. The mesh trays that come with the unit cannot be substituted for pan trays. You may also purchase non-stick mats from our accessories section if desired.
How much can I dehydrate per unit?
Please visit our batch calculator tool and fill out the form to determine which of our machines would best suit your production needs. You can always figure out how much of your product you can dehydrate by taping out the tray size on your countertop, laying the product out as you would on a tray, and then weighing the product and multiplying it by the number of trays in the unit.
What are pan trays used for?
Pan trays should primarily be used for liquids. We recommend mesh trays for most products as airflow circulation under your product is optimal for even drying. If dehydrating a solid product that is smaller than the standard stainless steel mesh trays, we recommend using our non-stick mesh mats which have a much smaller spacing.
Do I need the non-stick mats?
Non-stick mats are not always necessary depending on the type of product you are dehydrating. For example, beef jerky with liquid marinades can stick to the stainless steel mesh, making non-stick mats ideal. Also, thinly sliced food that may be more delicate can produce higher quality products using non-stick mats. Non-stick mesh mats are good for solid foods and make cleaning up a lot easier. We also sell non-stick solid mats for powders and fruit roll-up purees.
How long is your warranty good for?
The Warranty Period for Commercial and Industrial Dehydrators, as well as their accessories, is 3 years from the original date of purchase. Individual Dehydrator Parts purchased are not covered by warranty unless they are received through a warranty claim on a previously purchased product. In this case, a replacement product or part/s assumes the remaining warranty of the original Physical Good or 180 days from the date of replacement or repair, whichever is longer.
For more information, please visit our warranty page.
If I have a warranty claim, do you have service technicians in my area?
We use local appliance repair technicians for servicing our products. That way we can be sure to have a solution, no matter where you are located.
What is your return policy?
Our return policy can be found over on our shipping and returns page
What's the difference between commercial and industrial units?
There are a few differences between the commercial and industrial units. Usually it is context specific as to which machines are better suited to a particular business.
· The industrial units run off of 3-phase power while our commercial units are single phase.
· The industrial units reach 150C in our standard models (we can customize them to go higher than this), while the commercial units reach 90C.
· The timer on the industrial units runs for 9999 hours compared to 99 hours on the commercial
· The industrial units are fully insulated (better efficiency and heat retention). This translates to approximately 10-15% faster dry times.
· There is better airflow in the industrial units and more even drying.
· There is an exhaust valve on top of the industrial units which can be manually adjusted. This is helpful in the beginning as closing the valve will bring the chamber up to temperature quickly. It is also great for allowing the hot air to escape/cooling the machine down at the end of a cycle. Lastly it is good for customers with smelly food products, because ventilation ductwork can be attached to the valve and the smell can be expelled outside of your premises.
· The industrial units can be customized (temperature can be increased, humidity sensors added, optional exhaust fans, trays and trolleys can be customized to fit more product.
There are some advantages to buying multiple commercial units including:
· Price
· Manoeuvrability
· Ability to isolate different products and recipes in separate machines thereby avoiding cross contamination
· Ability to stagger production. By having dehydration cycles finish at different times it is possible to reduce labour costs and makes batch sizes smaller and easier to prepare.
Do your industrial units require external ventilation to be installed?
No, this all depends on the customer’s requirements as well as the premises that the customer is using. If the room that the units are placed in is well ventilated then it is often not required. However, some products, like pet treats, can produce an unpleasant smell during the drying process making installing a ventilation exhaust more desirable. For specific requirements regarding your premises, give us a call or send us an email and we will connect you with one of our industrial experts.
